World Animal Reiki Day!

The 5th of February each year is World Animal Reiki Day.  This day was chosen as it was the birthday of a special animal teacher to the President Kathleen Prasad of SARA, the Shelter Animal Reiki Association.  Her special animal teacher was Dakota, an Australian shepherd mix dog.  It was he who helped Kathleen to see the benefits of animal reiki and provided inspiration to create SARA.

This day is for us to recognise and honour all animals as our spiritual teachers and healers.  No matter what situation animals are in, whether in loving homes, rescue centres or those used as entertainment, as a small example, they are still able to teach us in magical ways.  This day is also to honour humans such as animal caregivers, pet parents, veterinarians and rescue/sanctuary leaders and staff.

Therefore to celebrate our World Animal Reiki Day this year I will be uploading a video on Instagram and Facebook sharing a short guided meditation in honour of our animal teachers & healers.  The video will be posted so you can catch this when you can and if you enjoy it, you can continue to watch and meditate as much as you want for the foreseeable future.
