The Power of Gratitude

I am grateful for what 2020 gave me, the good, the bad and the ugly.  Its definitely been a more challenging year but you and me, we got through it.  2020 was full of tears, laughter, heartbreak, love and community.  I knew I was resilient but this year has taught me just how much stronger, mentally and physically, I really am.

We all have our stories of what happened to us in 2020.  One of my biggest challenges of the year was when our latest foster dog went missing.  My partner and I are lucky to be able to foster dogs.  We help them grow confident and get used to a home environment, as most are from puppy farms it is the first time of even being in a home.  We encourage them to play, walk on lead and show them what love is.  They also get to share animal reiki with me to help restore and heal anything they need.  We then get to watch them move onto their own forever homes.

Unfortunately Poppy is still on her adventure of a lifetime.  Having spent her first 5 years on a puppy farm and only a few weeks with us, we hope she is enjoying her new found freedom.  You name it we have done it to try to find our Poppy and bring her home.  She has been sighted a few times over the months so she can survive on her own.  This doesn’t surprise me, with her background, she is hardy lady.  So we keep the faith and hope that by some miraculous way she will come back to us at the right time.

I do believe things happen for a reason, its just sometimes we are blinded by our initial thoughts and feelings.  I know I was when Poppy first went missing, 18 hour days out searching, my partner and I didn’t want to stop.  So whilst it is no longer 18 hour days, there is not one day we don’t think of her and we are always looking out for her.  In the early days, we were shown how love and community comes together.  Whether by being physically at our side searching through the woods and river or virtually sharing social media posts to get Poppy’s face & message out there, we cannot thank you enough, it meant an awful lot to us.

I also spent so much time in nature throughout our daily searches and got to watch the summer turn to autumn and met a lot of wildlife along the way.  I actually feel blessed.

In this present moment I am so grateful to have shared time with Poppy before she found freedom of a different kind.  I am also grateful to my community, whether local or from across the globe, thank you for your best wishes, kind thoughts and prayers. While I am in the state of gratitude I am also thankful for my family and close friends for their continued love.

Can you think of 3 things to be grateful for that showed up during 2020?  Being grateful will lift your spirit and put you in a higher vibration.  This will ripple out and help you attract more positivity in your life, so bring on 2021.

Thank you all for your support throughout 2020 and let 2021 bring us all good health and happiness.
